Along with our regular October monthly meeting, we will welcome Kirsta Niemie Benedetti to speak. Kirsta Niemie Benedetti is a social impact artist in Columbus dedicated to integrating her art practice with her commitment to social change. Her recent work combines portrait painting with storytelling to elevate the voices of incarcerated women.

Tariq Tarey, a documentary photographer and refugee advocate, will join us. Tariq Tarey has been awarded for his photography and filmmaking. He is currently the Director of Refugee Services at Jewish Family Services in Columbus. Currently, Tariq is working on a book project documenting representative refugee populations in Columbus.

Louise Captein, Associate Professor in the Art Department at Otterbein University, will give a presentation on the principles of color. She is an oil painter of semi-abstract works and a paper collage artist. An MFA from the Art Institute of Chicago, she teaches courses on drawing, painting, and color principles

Last year’s “show, tell, and discus” meeting was so successful we are doing it again this year. CAW members will be encouraged to bring art—completed or in progress— to the meeting where, in small groups, we can share with each other techniques, solutions, and sources of inspiration. It’s a great way to meet fellow artists
The Annual Spring Show Reception is on Sunday, March 9th 3-5 PM at the Westerville Community Center. It is open to members and their guests. There will be refreshments and social time. Judge's awards and Members' Choice will be awarded.
